As one of the most high-profile events of our Fraternity, Derby Days is a means for Sigma Chi chapters to do their part in being the generation to end cancer. It is an excellent opportunity to promote brotherhood, the spirit of community service, and philanthropy, while simultaneously raising funds for the Huntsman Cancer Institute: A National Cancer Institute and a leader in both cancer research and care.

Derby Days is Sigma Chi's annual fundraiser. The proceeds from our week are donated to the Huntsman Cancer Institute. Our goal is to "be the generation that ends cancer", and Derby Days is our effort to do so. Each year, for a week, our chapter will hold multiple competitive events for each sorority to participate in.
Huntsman Cancer Institute is a National Cancer Institute (NCI)- Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, which means it achieves the highest standards for cancer care and research and receives support for its worthy scientific endeavors. Huntsman Cancer Institute has become one of the best cancer hospitals in the world since its creation in 1995
We Are The Generation To End Cancer.
At Sigma Chi, this is our battle cry. Thousands of Sigma Chi's have stepped up to fund cancer research and we are nearing completion a 7-year commitment to raise $11 Million to fuel the innovative research at Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI). But as Sigma Chi’s we know our work is not done, so we are again making the largest commitment to a philanthropy in the history of men’s fraternity. The newly announced $20 Million will be directed to women’s cancers, to honor the women that inspire us every day and who work tirelessly with us in Debry Days to fight this horrible disease. Together, we are the generation to end cancer.
